Seasonal Photoshoots
How to be Prepared:
A Seasonal Photo Guide
I want you to feel at ease the next time you prepare for a mini seasonal photoshoot with your Photographer. It makes the time much sweeter and enjoyable for everyone. Preparation does depend on the seriousness of your shoot. So just take what is helpful and consider the rest.
The Week Before:
Choose outfits that coordinate, not match
Stick to seasonal colors (neutrals + a pop of fall, winter, spring, or summer tones)
Make sure clothes are comfortable and allow movement
Plan for layers & textures (cardigans, scarves, hats, etc.)
Schedule haircuts, grooming, or nail touch-ups if needed
What to prepare the day before a photoshoot:
Lay out full outfits (shoes, accessories, backups for kids)
Pack a bag of essentials:
Snacks + water
Makeup touch-ups / brush / wipes
Blanket for sitting shots
Small treats for kids or pets
Check the weather forecast
Make sure everyone gets a good night’s sleep
How to Prepare the Day of:
Eat a light meal before — happy faces photograph best
Arrive 10–15 minutes early
Keep things fun & relaxed — candid smiles > forced poses
Don’t stress about kids (or pets) — natural energy is perfect
Trust the process — your photographer has you covered!
